Transfer Telluride represents the beginning of a rebirth for one of the most historically significant neighborhoods of downtown Telluride. Originally at the epicenter of the mining boom, now being redeveloped as an epicenter for the arts, Transfer is your opportunity to participate in the cultural advancement of the Town.
Unobstructed views of the ski mountain and valley. Generous outdoor living spaces.
“With Transfer Telluride we wanted to create something that responds to Telluride’s historical context, especially in regards to the richness of materials and textures found throughout town. At the same time we didn’t want the finished product to simply imitate the past, and are really pleased that the result feels fresh and forward looking yet still respectful of other buildings in the historic district.
Inside we wanted to create unique residences that lived like single-family homes. A driving force for the interior layouts was to capture a diversity of Telluride’s panoramic scenery, giving future owners the opportunity to enjoy both indoor and outdoor views of the San Juans, Bridal Veil Falls and Telluride Ski Area.”

Transfer Telluride rests on a historical part of town known as the Warehouse District: a bustling hub of people, mining supplies and goods flowing in and out of town. When the mining boom ended, the corridor was left for ruin. However two historic buildings still remain on property: The Stronghouse and the Transfer Warehouse.
In 1968, the owner of the Telluride Transfer Company "Bucky" Schuler was approached by Telluride Ski Area founder Joe Zoline about purchasing the company and all of its assets, including the property, in order to transport people from downtown to his young ski resort. Since then, the Zoline family has thoughtfully protected the buildings and land. As part of the Transfer Telluride redevelopment project, the Transfer Warehouse will be restored as a community and cultural center for public benefit, further invigorating this cultural corridor.
